Which option do I need?

Different options prepare you for the 2 sections of the oral exam:

Domande disciplinari

The "domande disciplinari" are questions about the contents of the programma parte A2.

The committee will ask you questions about the specific topics of the classi di concorso AB24, AB25 and BB02.

These include language teaching methods, Second Language Acquisition, teaching skills and systems, World Englishes, English as a Lingua Franca, EU language policy and the CEFR, history, literature and culture, and English for Specific Purposes.

Best options for the domande disciplinari:

Because it includes a course that covers all the topics and a database of questions on literature and history

Because each class is based on a topic from the programma and you will literally practise how to answer the questions at the exam

Lesson planning

The other part of the exam is the lesson planning.

Your committee will give you a task rubric (traccia) 24 hours in advance of your exam.

The task rubric will usually contain a topic, such as "the past perfect" or "the Tudors". Sometimes, there will also be some specific details, such as the number of students in the class, the CEFR level or the Special Educational Needs of the students.

Your job is to create a presentation with a lesson plan based on the task rubric.

How do you do that? Whether you have experience or you don't even know where to start, you will find all the guidance you need in our courses and consultations.

Best options for lesson planning:

Because it contains 4 courses that teach you how to plan a lesson for the concorso, including how to plan a literature and history lesson

Because in 4 short webinars, you will learn practical steps to build your lesson plan with a good structure and innovative activities

Because you will get individual guidance and feedback on your own lesson plan from André, Chiara and Rachel, our experienced trainers who have helped hundreds of teachers pass the oral exams of the concorso

Hundreds of teachers have passed the oral exams (and improved their teaching skills) with us

But don't take our word for it...

I tried one and then I bought five of them! All of the courses were perfectly planned, clear to understand, complete, vary, engaging, and not excessively time consuming. LanguagEd is far better than any book I’ve ever bought and studied.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please read the FAQs below as they may contain the answer to your question!

  • I've already done the course "Corso di preparazione AB24-25: prova scritta e orale". What are the best options for me?

The best option for you is first of all to check the materials you already have in your course. Section B of your course covers the contenuti disciplinari, plus you have free access to the database of questions and explanations on literature and history. Section B of the course also includes a whole unit on lesson planning. Please review these materials before purchasing another course as you may find them sufficient and not have to spend any extra money. However, if you do feel you would benefit from extra support, you need to identify what you need help with: if you want to improve your speaking, book a conversation class. If you want to improve your lesson planning skills, book the live course (which you get 50% off on!) and/or an individual consultation.

  • I've already done the "Corso di preparazione prova scritta per tutte le classi di concorso". What option do I choose now?

If you've already done this course, you now need to prepare for the oral exam in English. You get 50% off the self study bundle (which includes the contenuti disciplinari) and the live course (which covers lesson planning in detail). To get your discount, go to the end of your course and you will find a coupon code. You may also decide to join a conversation class or book an individual consultation based on your preferences.

  • I have no experience with lesson planning and I want to start from scratch: what is the best option for me?

The best option in that case is probably the self-study bundle. You may also like to book an individual consultation or do the live course so that you can also be in contact with a live trainer.

  • I want individual feedback: what is the best option for me?

The best option for you is an individual consultation if you want individual feedback on your lesson plan and/or speaking. If you just want feedback on your speaking, the best option for you may be a conversation class.

  • Are there discounts available?

Yes: if you have previously purchased our "Corso di preparazione AB24-25: prova scritta e orale" or "Corso di preparazione prova scritta per tutte le classi di concorso", you get 50% off the self-study bundle and the live course with trainer. There are no discounts available on the conversation classes and individual consultations because these are led by our expert trainers, who deserve to be paid a fair wage for their work.
